02 What it is

The single source of truth for every NOW Media engagement.

The Discovery Blueprint is our proprietary AI-augmented brand intake methodology. It is not a kickoff call. It is not a brief form. It is a structured questionnaire we have refined across seven years and 200+ brand engagements, with an AI layer behind it that reads your scope and only asks what is relevant.

You never see questions that do not matter for your engagement. If you are launching a new brand, the Blueprint goes deeper on positioning, founder story, and category POV. If you are rebranding, it focuses on what is working, what is not, and what to preserve. If you need a single deliverable, a logo, a website, a packaging refresh, the questions stay tight to that piece.

The Blueprint auto-saves. Close the tab, come back later, finish on your phone, you will not lose a word. By the time the first real working session happens, NOW Media is showing direction. Not asking the same questions for the fifth time.

03 How it works

Three things, built in.

  1. 01

    Adaptive

Reads your scope. Only asks what is relevant. No filler. Launching a brand from zero, rebranding for the third outlet, scoping an AI automation build, three completely different question paths.

  2. 02

    Auto-saves

Close the tab. Come back tomorrow. Switch from desktop to phone. You will not lose a word. We have had clients complete the Blueprint across four sittings over a week. Same effect.

  3. 03

    One source of truth

Every choice we make downstream traces back to your answers. No telephone game in handoffs between strategist, designer, and copywriter. Each of them works from your words, not someone else's summary of your words.

04 What it covers

Goes deep where it matters.

The Blueprint covers the strategic foundations downstream creative work depends on. Topics vary by scope; the depth on each varies by the answers you give.

  • Positioning, your category claim, the specific position no one else is making, who you want and who you do not
  • Audience psychology, not demographics. Behaviour, motivation, decision frames, what they currently use or compare you against
  • Founder origin, why you started, what the alternative was, what would have to be true for this to fail
  • Voice and tone, how the brand sounds out loud, in writing, in a sales deck, in a support ticket
  • Visual direction, references you love (with reasons), references you do not (with reasons), the visual neighbourhood you want to live in
  • Commercial goals, the conversion event we will measure against, the revenue or expansion outcome the work is meant to enable
  • Existing brand state (for rebrands), what is working, what is not, what to preserve
  • Team and decisions, who is in the room, how decisions get made, who has veto
  • Timeline and constraints, real launch windows, fiscal year alignment, supplier lead times
  • Service-specific, for websites: the single conversion event; for AI automation: the workflows losing time; for branding: the rollout surfaces

05 Why it matters

The difference between work that feels generic
and work that feels like it could only have been built for you.

Most agency engagements

  • Kickoff call with a half-finished form
  • Salesperson reinterprets for the strategist
  • Strategist reinterprets for the designer
  • Designer reinterprets for the copywriter
  • Three reinterpretations of the same source
  • By v3, the work has drifted from the brief
  • Two weeks of revision rounds to get back to what you actually said
  • First draft feels generic, because it was built on incomplete information

NOW Media engagements

  • Discovery Blueprint completed before the call
  • Strategist, designer, copywriter, engineer all work from your answers directly
  • No reinterpretation chain
  • Calibration call walks through scope with everyone aligned
  • First working session is us showing direction
  • Sharper first drafts
  • Fewer revision rounds
  • A brief the whole team can actually use

08 Common questions

About the Blueprint.

Is the Discovery Blueprint free?

Yes. The Discovery Blueprint is free for any prospective client and carries no commitment. The output belongs to you regardless of whether you proceed with NOW Media. Clients who complete the Blueprint often tell us they got a sharper read of their own business in the process, useful even before any agency selection.

How long does it actually take?

15 minutes for tight scopes (single deliverable, narrow positioning question). 30 minutes typical (one service category, branding, website, or AI automation). 45 minutes for the full strategy + identity + website + packaging brief. The questionnaire reads your scope and only asks what is relevant, you never see questions that do not matter for your engagement.

What if I do not know all the answers yet?

That is part of the value. The Blueprint surfaces what you have not figured out yet, the gaps that would otherwise show up later in the engagement as revision rounds. "I do not know yet" is a valid answer to most questions, and we treat it as a working item for the calibration call.

Can I share the output with another agency?

Yes. The Blueprint output is yours. We do not gate it. If you decide NOW Media is not the right fit, the answers are still useful as a structured brief for whichever team you do engage.

Why is this the first step of every engagement?

Spend 30 to 45 minutes once, and we operate from your truth, not our guesses, for the rest of the engagement. That is the difference between work that feels generic and work that feels like it could only have been built for you. Every NOW Media engagement, branding, identity, websites, packaging, content, retainers, starts here.

What does the AI layer actually do?

The AI layer reads your scope inputs (industry, service mix, timeline, budget tier) and adapts the questionnaire, branching logic, follow-up depth, skipped sections, prefilled context. It also summarises your answers for the strategist before the calibration call so the call starts with calibrated direction rather than recap. The Blueprint runs on Claude. No question output ever trains a model, your answers are operational data only.
